Better late than never, NTU Rugby News previews the final match of the first round of the revised Tri-University Tournament. Match reports on the first two matches will be posted on this site soon. More importantly, the entire rugby community shall turn its attention to the fixture this coming monday where reigning champions for the Tri-varsity competition- National University of Singapore will take on their arch rivals - Nanyang Technological University at home.

Riding high from the narrow victory against Singapore Management University last weekend, NUS will look to seize the top spot on the table with a win over NTU this coming week. Records showed that the Clementi boys have a statistical advantage over their rivals, with them winning 2 out of 2 matches played in 2 years.

While news from the far west, after the heartbreaking loss to SMU in a match which the Boon Lay Warriors dominated, NTU has the chance to level things up and take their campaign further into the decisive second round. Rumours has it that the NTU boys were busy preparing for the upcoming match up. They were seen reporting back at Nanyang Avenue for training on the 3rd day of the lunar new year. Over a phone interview with the determined and passionate NTU captain, Tze "We have to be confident, truly believe that we are the best team in this tournament, and we will definitely win it"

With home ground advantage, pundits have named NUS the slight favourites for the game but many believe that with nothing to lose for NTU, the boys from the west are hungrier for a win and they may just steal this one from NUS.
