{Friday, September 15, 2006 . e-rugby: Weekend Preview Interviews}

For Div 2 game, SRC will come up against Lionred. SRC suffered a big blow for losing ASH (motorbike accident). Lionred will be giving their 100% with NTU's Wenjie, Zhongming, Commando Ken leading in attack. SRC will be depending on Emery 'Sub 10' Ong to burn the wings this weekend and hopefully produce a few tries.

On the Div 1 game, SRC vs Bedok Kings

NTU’s Stormy Norman:

“I know it will be physical at YCK Stadium. I remember the game at YCK with what happened with AWESOME Kiat. Everyone remembers that one. I know it will be tough but I said when I joined SRC that you will never see me jump when the tackles come in. I'm not as strong as some but I'm not scared either."

NTU's Undroppable Qing:

“SRC is tough, more physical. I knew it would be very physical and I was prepared for that."

“I played in CJC and I'm used to that. I had a very hard time in CJC at the start of my career because teams would play with a man-marker on me and it was difficult, so it was good preparation for my development in Bedok Kings. The SRC vs Kings game will be very difficult for us. We haven't started well in the Div 1 League but I hope last week's win (over Japs assoc.) will make us more confident and then we can win against SRC.”

On Emery 'Sub 10' Ong's comments on the spirit within the Kings.

"Kings lost Kiat the last time, i'm sure this will affect them this saturday. They probably will use the old, over the hill players to make the numbers."

NTU's Adam on Emery’s accusations about King's spirit:

“I think that’s nonsense. This is a very good team. The boss mentioned this was almost the best team he’s ever had when you look at the players we have, and I agree with that."

“We have a young, talented squad, a good mix. I think that’s all nonsense. You don’t beat the Japs without spirit and commitment. That was only last weekend.”

NTU's AWESOME:

“If he did say those things it is completely wrong. He knows that inside of him. He knows the atmosphere at Bedok Kings has always been good."

On the Premier League clash between Safsa and Bedok Kings.

NTU's Potato Thiam on the title race:

“We put SCC, Wanderers and Safsa out of it when we won at the start of the season and I can see why people might be saying that it's down to us and BUCKS.

“When we played BUCKS a few weeks ago at home (even though its at Turf city) on the first weekend and beat them it set the tone for the whole season. When you can do that and win a big one it can be a massive statement."

“We know that the other teams (SCC) will be watching to see what we do and if we can go out there and play well against Safsa and dominate the match, the likes of BUCKS and the rest will have to stand up and pay attention to us."

“We are playing well at the minute but we've got to keep winning.”

NIE's Rebel Rong:

“I am enjoying myself. Now for a big game against Safsa and I want to keep our run going. It’s great to be scoring. It gives you extra confidence. I just keep giving 100 per cent, which is what I will continue to do.”

“It is too early in the day to be writing BUCKS off. We have had a good start and need to concentrate on ourselves."

“SCC had a good result in midweek at Padang and will be confident going into the game against Wanderers, but Kings v Safsa is always a huge game and after the start we have had, we want to carry that on.

“If we win the game and reallly put some points in, we are in a strong position, but you can't look too far ahead. Things will only be settled at the end of the season."

“It is the kind of game everyone looks forward to (scoring many many), but to be honest we haven't had a lot of time to think about it, with so much on. But we are focusing on that game now in training."

“Winning is a good habit to have, and something we want to continue into Saturday's tough game. But confidence is high, and we are picking up results."

“It's another huge game in a big week for us, but the week has started well and we want to carry that on."

“I wouldn't say we have hit top gear yet, even if we have had a couple of fantastic performances. But we have won majority of our games (4 win, 1 lost), so it will be nice to hit top gear!"

“I will take winning every game, that's for sure. My partnership with Marko Lee worked well on the last time we played safsa but who knows what is going to happen on Saturday?"

“We played well against Safsa the last time, but are not firing full on. But we played well at times and created a lot of chances so it was a pleasing night."

“I enjoyed my game, even if it was a typical 'David vs Goliath' with a lot of Tries and excitement.

“It was vital to get the 5 points, especially with BUCKS losing, which gives us a little cushion.”

It will surely be an exciting weekend for the Rugby fans. We would like to thanks the boys for the exclusive interviews.
