NTU winning the IVP this season would be one of the greatest achievements in the school's illustrious history, according to rugby Analyst Chris "dinosaur" Cheng.
NUS has secured the title for the past two seasons. Though NTU gave NUS's men a much closer run for their money last term, Cheng remains realistic about NTU's chance of success in the IVP in the new campaign.
"Given the amount of talent NUS have secured, if NTU could overcome them and win the IVP again, it would be one of the greatest achievements you could ever hope for." Cheng explained.
"They are our challenge. They are everybody's challenge for the next few years because they attract the best players - and plenty of them." said Cheng
"We have a lot of young players at NTU just now and, with a fair wind, we expect them to get better. I know it is two seasons since we won the title, but veterans like AWESOME Kiat and KING Thiam are determined not to allow a NUS hatrick." said Stormy Normy
"In my opinion, TZE is one of the most underrated players in Spore. I don't have any doubt in my mind that TZE will be an integral part of theNTU team this season." -AWESOME
After Ah Lian's departure, NTU really lacked someone with sheer class in converting points and NTU is pretty sure that TZE will bring that.
“It’s a great experience getting to play with players like Normy, Adam and Qing. It’s unbelievable,” TZE told e-rugbyTV. “Getting to play with first-team players is always a good experience for young players.”
"TZE's an excellent rugby player. The good thing is he's been playing National age group rugby. He went into a Lion Red team very young and most players who come through [there] get a good foundation. National players like, Katek, Mark lee, and myself are all products of Lion Red."-said KING
When asked what is his plan for this coming season, "NTU is a terrific school and I just wanted to come and improve my game, achieve things and win trophies."
